A mangonada is a Mexican treat, made of mango, chamoy and chile lime salt.
Chef’s Tip: Chamoy is a sweet, salty and tangy Mexican condiment made from chilies and pickled fruit and has a syrup-like consistency. Chili-lime seasoning comes in a small bottle and is sprinkled over fresh fruit in Mexico as a snack. Both of these items can be found in the Hispanic section of your grocer or a Hispanic supermarket.
If desired, this recipe can be prepare without the chamoy. The chili-lime seasoning can be substituted with 2 tbsp chili powder, ¼ tsp salt and ¼ tsp very finely chopped lime zest.
